Sanji knew something was up when he heard Zoro’s footstep break into his chopping knife’s cadence. He was just starting supper’s preparations, which meant that Zoro should have been in the middle of his precious pre-dinner nap under the main mast. The fact that the man was conscious was more then a little unnerving. Especially since they didn’t appear to be under attack. But…he blinked a few times to clear his mind and convince himself that whatever was going on didn’t require his attention and he hoped that the swordsman hadn’t noticed the slight slag his in rhythm his thoughts had caused. He refocused on the task at hand, swiftly dicing up the celery and ignoring- completely- totally- and entirely- the slow confident footfalls behind him.

However he couldn’t completely hold back the shiver when Zoro breathed down his neck. And he definitely didn’t hold back the gasp of surprise when the other man lashed out with his arms snagging the cook around the waist with one strong arm, pulling the slighter man tight to his chest, while the other hand covered Sanji’s eyes.
“Oi, shitty-swordsman.” Sanji grabbed onto the wrist of the hand holding his eyes and gave a half-hearted tug. “What do you think you’re doing?”

The man in question let the blond’s hand stay where it was, as he leaned forward into his captive’s ear.
“I had this crazy idea pop into my head earlier,” he hummed, “and I’ll be damned…I just can’t fall asleep without it reappearing.” His arm squeezed Sanji’s waist briefly. “It’s very distracting.”
“Well, so are you. And I’m trying to get supper started. Do you want to remove yourself or have me do it for you?”

But his legs weren’t moving into a fighting stance, and his voice didn’t quite have the right edge to it- it was a pretty blatant empty threat.

“Keep your eyes closed.” Zoro ordered pulling away with a quick lick to the outside of the cook’s ear. “I mean it.”
“Hm…what are you doing to do? Spank me?” Sanji pressed, but his eyes remained closed.
“Maybe later.”

The blond heard a rustling of fabric and couldn’t help but frown. If Zoro was just going to be naked when he opened his eyes…well, it wouldn’t be bad, but it wouldn’t be anything new either. But he didn’t hear the heavy clomp of Zoro’s boots hitting the floor or the dull thud of the overweight fabric of his pants. Instead he felt the light touch of something small bouncing slightly off his tie, before settling in the middle of his chest.

His eyes flew open as Zoro grabbed his wrist and spun him around, first staring wide-eyed at his lover before following the man’s intense glaze down to his shirtfront. The glint of finely polished metal struck him as odd and he reached down to touch whatever Zoro had set around his neck. Tilting the flat surface up he read the swordsman’s name on one of the two small dog tags that hung there.

“Hm,” he smiled running his fingers around the edges of the engraved tag. “I remember these, got them at that carnival town right? Does this mean that I’m Zoro now?” he looked up at the swordsman through his lashes playing the part of the coy yet mischievous cook that drove the other man wild.
“No,” Zoro mumbled, voice deep and throaty, as he stepped forward grasping both sides of Sanji’s neck with his rough hands. His thumbs pushed the slighter man’s chin up possessively, “It means that you’re Zoro’s.”

Zoro’s mouth came down at his quick and fast, and while Sanji certainly didn’t mind the ravishing and the tugging and stroking of the other’s hot tongue in his mouth- he pushed the swordsman away suddenly breaking the kiss with a wet pop.

Zoro growled and dove back in for his goods, but froze as Sanji’s seemingly delicate hand suddenly covered his eyes. The other hand drifted down the swordsman’s start of a 5-o’clock shadow and the man leaned into the touch instinctively.

“Turn around is fair play is it not?” Sanji murmured. He was close enough that he knew Zoro could feel his breath on his face, and was mildly impressed when the swordsman kept his hands in check. “Keep those eyes closed.”

The other grunted which Sanji took for the go-ahead to let his hands fall. With one quick jerk his tie came free and he looped the red fabric around Zoro’s neck as gently as possible. His hands flew through the tying process automatically and he finished by tightening it just so. It looked silly on top of Zoro’s plain, and slightly stained, white shirt but he didn’t care.

Fisting it into his hand he yanked down hard, almost cutting off the swordsman’s air supply in the process, but the hint was taken and Zoro’s eyes were staring into his own once more.

“This means,” Sanji smiled as he dragged the other’s mouth closer to his, “that you’re Sanji’s.”
